FASTING

Biblical fasting is a spiritual discipline which was encouraged by Jesus.

At the start of each year, we come together to consecrate ourselves as a first fruits offering to God and to set a precedent for the coming year. Every year, we seek God for specific areas of our lives and for his kingdom.

Matthew 6:16-18 “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”

ALLOW JESUS TO ENTER IN

What God wants most from you is relationship - friendship. He wants to be involved in the big and small moments of your life. Open your life, let the light of God's presence shine into every part, and you'll have no need for a yearly spiritual cleaning. Instead experience daily, moment to moment refreshing of your spirit.  If you shut Him you out...He can’t come in.  He wants you to want Him.

  • 1 Corinthians 1:9  “God ... is the one who invited you into this wonderful friendship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

  • Psalm 56:13  “For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.”
